Rick Moore manages government affairs and government relations for James Korenchen Public Relations (JKPR) as a partner with Book Hill Partners based in Washington D.C. With more than 30-years of public policy, public affairs and public relations experience, Rick is responsible for managing public affairs for companies, organizations and individuals locally, regionally and nationally.
Throughout his career, Rick has worked at the highest levels of government and the private sector including positions in the Clinton and Carter Administrations. He has also worked with Fortune 500 companies including Compaq, H-P, Sprint, Oracle, Coca-Cola, and Fortune magazine, as well as several foreign governments.
Prior to joining Book Hill Partners and working with James Korenchen Public Relations, Rick was a partner in the firm Rutherford and Associates where he specialized in building community and public affairs programs in the United States and Africa.
Rick previously served as the global account director at McCann Erickson where he managed global marketing programs for Coca-Cola and its new product development in Africa. Rick also worked with James Korenchen at Weber Shandwick Worldwide where he headed the global communications team for Hewlett Packard as executive vice president.
Prior to his tenure at Weber Shandwick Worldwide, Rick held the position of senior vice president with the Oracle Corporation in Silicon Valley reporting directly to Chairman and CEO Larry Ellison. Rick served on Oracle’s technology development and the executive management committees. He headed up a numerous global executive projects and developed strategic relationships between Oracle and key business leaders and governments, including the Philippines, China, Japan and a number of European countries.
In 1994, Rick began advising the Clinton Administration on media-related issues to President Bill Clinton’s visits to Italy and Russia during the World War II anniversary celebrations. He also served as a senior advisor for media affairs for President Clinton’s visit to South Korea and Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Along with handling media-related issues for the Clinton White House, Rick served under President Jimmy Carter and managed media relations for presidential visits throughout Europe. He also traveled across the Balkans, Europe and North and South America coordinating national and international media relationships for the Carter Administration.
Early in his professional career, Rick held a number of positions with democratic leaders in Missouri. He served as a senior political advisor for Congressman Jerry Litton and United States Senator Thomas Eagleton. In addition, he has managed more than 50 state and local election campaigns. He then entered the private sector and the public relations field, establishing his own firm where his clients included Hallmark Cards, Sprint, Northwest Telecom and a number of financial and banking companies. Rick earned his bachelor’s degree from Missouri University where he majored in Political Science and Criminology.
