James Korenchen is the president and founder of James Korenchen Public Relations (JKPR), a full service public relations consultancy that specializes in consumer, corporate, entertainment, business-to-business, and technology PR.
In his role as president, James oversees the day-to-day operations of each client’s business and works closely with their senior executives to develop the right strategy that produces superior results. James also works closely with his colleagues in Los Angeles, New York and London that comprise the senior JKPR team.
With more than 25 years experience in public relations and strategic communications, James has worked with a wide-range of clients including Coca-Cola, Compaq/HP, General Electric, Disney, Microsoft, Kodak, Siemens, Clearly Canadian and Bass Ale.
Prior to establishing JKPR, James worked for Weber Shandwick Worldwide, one of the world’s largest PR firms. Based in New York City, he ran one of the company’s New York offices which specialized in consumer technology. He was transferred to London to establish a pan-European practice, and returned to the U.S. to run the company’s North American Broadcast Services and Media Relations division.
James left New York in 2002 to look for “browner pastures” and moved to Albuquerque, NM where he eventually established JKPR. James organized a network of former colleagues to create a consultancy of PR professionals unrivaled to none. Today, the firm works for clients on local, regional, national and international levels.
James began his career more than 25 years ago in Minneapolis. He has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Speech Communications from the University of Minnesota.
James has received several public relations awards and honors throughout his career including the CIPRA, Big Apple, Sabre, CPRG, PR Week, PRO, Bulldog and Cumbre awards. James was also a guest lecturer at NYU regarding the use of technology in public relations.
James and his wife Tricia currently live in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
