James Korenchen Public Relations Takes Top Honors at
New Mexico Public Relations Society of America Awards
JKPR Receives “Best of Show” Award for Second Year in a Row
Albuquerque, NM – May 3, 2010 – James Korenchen Public Relations, an Albuquerque-based public relations consultancy with offices in New York, Los Angeles, Washington D.C. and London, was awarded “Best of Show” at the Cumbre Public Relations Awards for outstanding achievement in public relations tactics. This is the second year in a row that the company has received “Best of Show” honors as the overall best tactical public relations program of the year. Presented by the New Mexico Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, James Korenchen Public Relations received the “Best of Show” award for its work with the travel Web site TripAdvisor.com.
In addition, James Korenchen Public Relations received gold Cumbre awards for its work with the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa and Santa Ana Star Casino in the Reputation Management category. It also received a silver Cumbre award in the Special Events and Observances category for the public relations program it created and implemented on behalf of the Gathering of Nations.

James Korenchen Public Relations generated 1,066 TV news stories for TripAdvisor in the top 25 U.S. markets and nationally including stories on the “CBS Evening News with Katie Couric,” NBC “Today” show, CNN, MSNBC, Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends,” CNBC, ABC “The View,” and more. The company also helped TripAdvisor increase monthly visitors to its Web site by 60 percent and helped increase the amount of user-generated reviews by 10 million.
The gold award-winning program for The Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa helped generate new guests for the resort in the economic downturn, and the gold award-winning program for Santa Ana Star Casino helped to attract new guest and player’s club members by promoting its entertainment and sporting venues, culinary expertise and guest benefits, along with gaming. The Gathering of Nations PR program was awarded for promoting the event and increasing the amount of non-Native American attendance at the world’s largest powwow.
